JJ was awarded the prestigious Book Prize for Overall Top Student in the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examinations for the year 2022, an honour sponsored by Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid. He completed his pupilage in Messrs. Wong & Loh and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitors of the High Court of Malaya in January 2024.
Throughout his years in legal practice, JJ has been actively involved in civil litigation where he has advised and represented clients in a broad range of matters, including contractual disputes, real estate disputes, land fraud cases, employment matters, shareholder disputes, defamation claims, intellectual property infringement, medical negligence, fraudulent investment scheme, construction claim as well as debt recovery proceedings.
Known for his meticulous attention to detail, JJ is committed to delivering legal solutions that are both commercially sensible and legally robust.
Recently, he acted for one of Singapore’s leading bus companies in a complex and high-value dispute, successfully obtaining a prohibitory injunction to safeguard his client’s commercial interests and prevent major disruption to the public transportation system in Malaysia during the Raya festive period.
Currently, he is part of a legal team representing the former Director-General of Health, Ministry of Health Malaysia, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Hisham bin Abdulllah in matters involving false endorsement and passing off.
In addition to his litigation works, JJ also has experience in handling conveyancing transactions and routinely advises clients on corporate matters such as contract drafting and due diligence exercises. His dual perspective – spanning both litigation and non-contentious works – ensures that clients receive holistic legal support at every stage of their business or personal dealings.
