Brandon Loo Zhe Yu

Brandon holds an LL.B. from the University of London and is currently pursuing the Certificate of Legal Practice (CLP). Throughout his years of studies, he has excelled in various areas of law. Most notably, Brandon was recognized by the Dean of Undergraduate Laws as one of the Global Top 3 scorers in Public Law, Family Law, Tort Law, and European Union (EU) Law.

At Messrs. Chan Eng & Co., Brandon is keen to translate the academic knowledge that he has obtained into real-world applications. He always approaches issues by balancing sound legal reasoning and practical considerations, guided by his belief that “solving the problems practically” is far more important than “trying to prove a point” at clients’ expense.

Beyond academics, Brandon also participated in the Kuala Lumpur Bar-Lincoln’s Inn Alumni Association of Malaysia (KL Bar-LIAAM) Moot Competition 2023, where he appeared as the Lead Counsel before panels of experienced legal practitioners as judges. He has also been part of the Sidang Muda programme organised by the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC), where he gained experience and exposure on policy-making in the State Legislative Assembly.
